Happy New Year!

We started off 2013 with a BANG! Pup skijor training is under way and it's as awesome as it is disastrous and hilarious!

Maggie was a SUPERSTAR! Jack & Harris are the honourary pup trainers who now run the other way when they see the harnesses coming. The puppies loooooove them and jump on them and lick them as much as the older dudes will let them.  But they're sooo good and patient with these little maniacs!

Maggie was in top form, clowning it up for the camera on her first run.  Oh puppies.  I don't blame her for being a bit impatient/goofy, this was at -30, after WEEKS of -30's I finally just decided to get out. And my skis were sticking like crazy so we were going at a snail's pace... and y'all know, puppies just want to RUN REEEEEEALLY FAST!!!!  They have been running loose on the river almost every day so they are used to just zipping down the trails.

This was not what she expected at all. But it's amazing how freakin' fast they catch on.

Ok, not this:

'scuse me, I need to get by. Geez you are huge, Harris.

Here she is getting the hang of it, a mere 5 minutes later!  Yes, Jack was up ahead kind of "baiting" her... hey whatever works. He works for fish btw.
