Saturday night entertainment

People ask, "Stacie, what do you do for fun on a Saturday night at 30 below?"

And although there can be multiple answers to this - like, watching Hockey Night in Canada, lying on the couch with 10 dogs strewn about the cabin, obsessing over getting past a level in Angry Birds (thanks cheater sites!), to the rare occassion of going to town and socializing with other humans... this BY FAR is my most favourite thing to do on a Saturday night:

Hi just got back from Vegas, went for warmth not gambling, so it's good to find a couple of posts from you. Does the moon totally abandon you up there in winter? I've never seen such dark as there is always some reflection from city lights or car lights etc. around here. One thing I really wanted to ask about are the northern lights as I don't recall you ever mentioning them or posting pictures. I'm from northern Manitoba and remember seeing them a lot on cold nights and at times also hearing them as they shifted and cracked.

You going to go skijoring in the dark Jenny? LOL

Marg - Vegas must have been a nice break from the cold! It's been REALLY cold here, like -36 to -42, not much warmer. Though now it's a balmy -28! It was DARK that one night, but usually I'll go out if there's a full moon because it's much brighter. The dogs were just getting pent up so I had to get them running!

Yep, there are northern lights out pretty regularly, I don't get too excited about them anymore, and getting pics of them is pretty hard. I should try! I'll get back to you on that. :)
