For those of you who haven't seen it, it is a relatively freaky show about spirits and ghosts and murder and general evil-ness taking place in an old house. I was on a AHS bender, having just discovered it so I thought it was a GREAT idea to watch ALL the episodes in record time. While this led to a few entertaining evenings, it also led to an increase in the freaked-outness factor.
As the nights went on, the demon babies, the dead (or not dead?) ex-lovers, the twin-murderers (why are twins always on a murderous rampage??) all were starting to get to me. It all really started to freak me out. I was having dreams and flashbacks of a real ghost/spirit that I've seen in the past, which I won't go into, 'cause it'll freak me out more.
Anyways! I was hearing noises, I was seeing things outside in the dark, I was having freaky dreams, and I pretty much didn't want to go outside into the dark. Here I am on one of the last nights, watching the show, with all the dogs inside.
As you can see, I am getting a little tense on the couch. Doesn't even help that George is lying on top of me. She's not protecting me though, she's just a couch-hog. You may notice that there are only 7 dogs downstairs, three are upstairs for those observant readers out there. Here I am, lying on the couch surrounded by dogs when I realize, "CRAP! I have to go and plug my car in. WHY does it have to be cold out!"
Oh yeah, the Yukon. Right. Stupid -30 winter.
So I enlist the help of my furry buddies. I mean, I don't want to go outside alone, who knows what is out there. Plus, I am ALWAYS doing things for the dogs - such as feeding them, petting them, walking them, etc. They totally owe me.
I start with my most devoted dog, the big dude, Kuna. He's always following me around, he LOVES me. Hel'll protect me? He'll do anything for me, right?
Hm.
Now Gracie is *sometimes* useful. She looooves me. Well, she looooves me petting her and being her general slave. Will she help me out?
No. Apparently sleeping upside down with your legs splayed everywhere is more important.
Ok, Pooh Bear has GOT to be interested! I can't keep that little maniac away from me if I tried. Let's see what she has to say:
*SIGH*
I give up.
In the end, I had to go out and plug the car in ALL BY MYSELF. This process took about 3 seconds but I swear something tried to grab me as I ran back into the cabin...
Now I'm going to only watch happy comedy shows!

Hahahahaha!!! That is the best post ever! You're all Hyperbole and a Half, I swear. :D Ahahahaha! Love it.
Love the drawings!!! Such loyal companions you have there.
Stacie, I'm so relieved you survived to tell the tale (tail?)!
Do all your dogs get to sleep on the bed with you? Probably just Pooh Bear and Toby sleep on the bed with you? I am sure SOME of your dogs must sleep on the bed with you?
haha, I love and am confused by the love of the drawings. Unless you all just feel sorry for me!
Maxie - no they don't all sleep on the bed! In fact, only about 6 come upstairs. And of those 6, George will come on the bed whenever she feels like it (esp if it's cold out). And Harris the beast is often found "warming it up" for me! At least, that's what he calls it.
LOL :>)
