WHEW!! After 10-freakin' years without running water, I am back in the semi-civilized world. No real toilet yet, but I don't want to go TOO crazy. My head might just implode. In the meantime, I'm enjoying wayyy too many baths in my kick-ass tub!

Here's a few pics of the awesome tub and awesome sink and awesome running water and the awesome hot water heater and awesome dogs just for kicks! :)

Tankless water heater - it is awesome, saves a ton of space too. Even if it does cost an arm and a leg, it's worth it!

Hole in my logs, agh!

Of all the projects I've done in my lifetime in the Yukon, I've never tried or wanted to try plumbing. And I now know why, I HATE IT!! It's horrible and confusing and there are so many little parts... I did however, learn to make that thing. Which leaked when we tried it out, oops! So I fired myself.

Pooh Bear! Yay, we have water!!! She even lays beside the tub when I'm in it - can't be too far from the human.

The new Ikea sink is now functional.

Sweet glorious running water into a huge, roomy tub. Life is great. :)

So I've taken on a new challenge and that is this new website! Yukon Adventure Magazine.

I've been spending a lot of time over there and will be for the next little while. It's become a second job! But it's been fun. I just launched it last weekend and the site is devoted to all types of adventures in this grand Territory of ours!

I'm always looking for people to contribute, so if you have any adventure related stories you want to share, let me know. Comments are a bit glitchy over there right now, but I'm working on it...

Aaaaand, we have a contest running RIGHT NOW! If you have been on, or are soon going on a "Yukon Adventure" - you better write about it and submit it. Because you can WIN a sweet pair of MEC Hut Booties, just like this one. But there will be two of them.

All you need to do is submit an article with a minimum of 500 words. Submit it to and you are automatically entered in a draw to win these toasty warm booties. PERFECT for the upcoming winter season.
