En Route! And Mother's Day happiness!

Hi bloggy peeps! I'm still alive, just busy and my beloved laptop is in for repairs. 6+yrs and it's still going fairly strong, except for this wee hiccup, and it's only an issue with the power connector thingy. Yay for Macs!
Stay tuned for updates here from... beautiful St. John's, Newfoundland and Halifax, Nova Scotia! I'm en route to the other side of our awesome country and I can't WAIT to see it! I'm super excited!!! I head to the exciting world of the Canadian Museum's Association 2010 Conference where I'll be hanging with fellow museum geeks from the Tyrrell Museum, the ROM, Royal BC Museum, Canadian Museum of Nature, and the littler guys like The Rooms out of St. John's, New Brunswick Museum, just to name a few. And, can't forget my most favourite and frequent visited museum of my childhood - the Royal Saskatchewan Museum (whose website doesn't seem to be working today)! What fun eh!?!?!

Sure, I'll miss the dogs and my quiet life like crazy but it's time to get out and about and see some more of this great land of ours. Like the infamous George Street:

Pubs, pubs and more pubs conveniently located on one street. I think it's our duty as Canadians to become familiar with this street.

And visit the icebergs!

The Rooms Cultural Centre

Signal Hill National Historic Site AND the most easterly point in Canada. See you next week!

I think Lucy was trying to thwart my trip by kind of getting into a porcupine the other night. I say "kind of" because she only came back with a few quills in her nose and mouth. Luckily she was the only one to come back with quills in her face, and only about 20. After 20 minutes of us wrestling in the loft, I won the battle! And she emerged quill-free.

In the meantime, I'm missing a most important day - Mother's Day! If only I realized what PAIN in the arse I was to my mom when I was in my rebellious-let's-drive-my-mother-absolutely-nuts stage, I might have calmed down a bit... but she's stuck by me and forgave me for some of my better ideas (bootlegging homemade wine to my friends, stealing her car, wrecking the house during parties, throwing shelves at my brother... you know, the usual). So the least I can do is give her a little something - here's a little video card I made for MY most favourite mom in the world. Happy Mother's Day mom, we'll be reuniting in St. John's next week, can't wait!

See y'all from the East Coast!

I LOVEDvisiting the Royal Saskatchewan Museum when I was younger. I haven't been there in nearly twenty-years! Is it still as awesome as it used to be?

I have only seen bits and pieces of Eastern Canada, but what I have seen is beautiful. We plan to take the RV up through that area some day and enjoy it with the dogs.

have fun.

Michael - me too! They had a big fire there years ago, and it was down for awhile but I hear they salvaged some exhibits and it's as good as new now(probably even better!).

Can't wait to see the sights TH!
