Elk with Attitude

Here you go dad! More elk shots.

This is sure to make the old man hyperventilate with excitement! Even if that excitement does involve a bullet or two...
This was on the drive into work this morning.

Maybe if I look over THERE she'll get distracted by that shiny bright object in the sky....

Yep still eating. And would you believe when I drove home a mere 12 hours later these two were in the exact same spot, still eating! So cool. Or so lazy. Yeah, that's it - they're the lazy anti-social elk of the herd.

Strange things done under the... power poles. (what's a northern blog without a lame Robert Service reference??)

Keep moving lady... what's this look like, a zoo??

Mmmmm... grass. Again. Tastes kind of like the grass from yesterday. And the day before....

Hi! Yep we're still here. Want me to do a backflip or something? 'Cause I tell you, I will if it'll make you go away.

And even though it was -35C the other night, it feels like spring is on it's way because it's light out now till 8:30 p.m. That means lots of outdoor doggy fun after work. Skijoring after work is my idea of F-U-N. But let me tell you W-I-P-E-O-U-T-S are not. Why don't you ask two little brats named Ripper and Loki about that!!??? And how much fun it is attempting to drag me THREE TIMES as me, my skis AND poles are all wedged in snow!!! (more on that at a later time, sorry no video - all I have to show for that is a ski imprint on my butt... didn't realize I was quite that flexible)

Anyways! This is not driving directly INTO the sun on the same ride home.  See the light?? See it? Huh? Huh?? Do you!!?? Sweet sweet SUN!!!!! (but don't melt that precious snow yet) :)

Beautiful elk even if they're a tad lazy.

I love the fact that we are conditioned by the light to feel the onset of spring. Years of it repetition at work.

I have to admit I'm liking the change to daylight savings (well not so much when I wake up in the morning). Imagine 8 years in office and the only good thing one can say about GW Bush is that he changed daylight savings time.

I wonder what life would be like if we eliminated the change altogether? Thoughts to ponder next winter.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who drives to and from work saying "Look at the sun! Look at the light!". I'm so thrilled to have survived most of the winter.

I'm fascinated by the crack in your windshield. I think it's longer than mine...

Glad the elk are standing to the side of the road and not on it.
