The sun is everywhere through my cracked, coffee stained windshield.
Ah, the sun'll come up... eventually! Now it's getting lighter earlier and earlier and that makes my days much better. Especially the days I've had lately...
Then you get these HAPPY faces and furry little beings full of unconditional love and devotion... how could they not pick you up when you're down?? Dogs rock. :)
Loki and Esther were waiting for our newly returning game of FETCH!!! It helps to have a plowed driveway to run REALLYFAST down and to throw the ball without losing it in 50ft of snow. Plus I cleaned out my closet and found, like 25 balls! haha. I wondered where they were all hiding. Under crap apparently.
This is what happens when you put a cup of coffee (in a regular mug) on your roof and forget it as you drive off. The clunking as it toppled on the roof and then rolled off is what caught my attention at 7:30 a.m. down my driveway.

Whoops!!!! At -25c, it tends to freeze faster than you can get out of the vehicle and figure out what's going on! I did find the ceramic mug in the snowbank though! Gotta look at the positive they always tell me. Things HAPPEN for a reason I'm told (right mom??!) - so I guess this made me appreciate my coffee even more as I drive coffee-less into work with my lack-of-caffeine jitters...or something like that. The karma gods keep biting me in the ass, so I hope the crap (and coffee) that keeps getting flung (is that a word??) my way ends soon.
I may have the odd bison and herds of horses and a few elk in my yard, but I sure don't have these guys: (click on it for a slightly bigger picture)

Laura sent me this pic of "her" pond, which she looooves when she sees things like this - otters playing with ravens or ravens taunting otters or ravens pretending to be much bigger and intimidating than they are. But she hates the pond when it's noisy and fishy-smelling (which is a lot when you live on a fish farm).
Safely penned in at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. We had a visit there with work last week, what a GREAT place to visit. If you're ever up visiting, be sure to check it out. They now do self-guided walking tours, so you can visit with the 750 acre wildlife at your leisure. I'll post more on this visit soon... :)

I love the sun being higher in the sky and the longer hours of daylight. The only problem is that with that comes warmth and with that goes snow and then we're done with winter for another 6 months or so.
But these days of March are precious.
The coffee cup was excellent.
ahahahhaha you dork. What are you doing travelling with a regular cup of coffee anyways?? No travel mugs that might have saved a bit of coffee for you??
Luckily our days are cool enough that the snow won't be melting... hopefully for another month at least. Then it can all go in one day and warm up to +30 so we can start training in the water for the river Quest!
Kara - I DO have travel mugs, they're just all dirty! haha, hey! You should come and clean them, once you're done with the nesting thing at YOUR place. :)
Hi Stacie,
I've been following your blog for a couple months and the coffee cup incident made me burst out laughing,so I thought I'd comment. Your sense of humor always makes me smile. I don't know anything about sled racing, but I'm learning...
Hope tomorrow is better - wash a go cup.
I LOVE the sun we've seen lately! I comment on it at least once every morning. My first block class does not get it. They just look at me with that teenage look, the one that says "we'll humour you for now, you really, you are batty."
Hi Barb - welcome! I love it when my misfortune makes others laugh! :)
Averagemom- I comment on the sun like 50x/day!!! Ok, most of those times are to myself or the dogs, and they ALREADY know I'm batty!!!
